Cultivating a tech investment firm’s brand identity

Hel Ved Capital Management is an Asia-based investment management firm that focuses selectively on innovation-driven opportunities in tech, media, communications and affected sectors.

The firm partnered with branding agency Stepworks to evolve its brand and website.

Seeing the forest and the trees 

The brand evolution aimed to strengthen stakeholder confidence and positively influence perceptions. 

Updated items included logo, brand identity, a PowerPoint template, stationery and website.

A new logo drops

The acorn icon logo symbolises resilience and growth. It incorporates an H, V and C for Hel Ved Capital. 

Hel ved is Norwegian for solid wood. People and action characterised by trustworthiness, dependability and moral integrity are called hel ved. Hel ved people are authentic and reliable like solid wood that endures through the seasons, unshaken and resilient.

Featuring imagery of flexible solid wood, the design language  resonates with Hel Ved Capital. The company launched just as COVID started and is one of the few startup funds that survived. In addition, the founder’s family name (柴) means firewood.

Solid wood outcomes 

The brand builders also upgraded the Hel Ved Capital website, providing UX and UI design, digital development, and hosting advisory.

The revitalised website makes a solid first impression. It provides clarity around the firm’s capabilities and tells the Hel Ved story with style and coherence.

Hel Ved Capital Management’s distinctive brand identity and website expresses the firm’s values and elevates its presence in the investment community.
