Global teamwork built on heritage and respect

Rodman Plastics began in 1995 as a joint venture with farsighted Chinese plastics manufacturer ZhuJiang, established 1962.

Following a fruitful collaboration, the company decided to level up the synergy between its global and China teams. The expected outcome is more innovation and stronger ability to serve customers.

Rodman led the initiative with a brand revitalisation, and took a fresh look at its corporate identity.

The project included a brand building component, and the refreshed brand was launched on a new website.

Value created

Inspiring design – The bold modern corporate identity features the distinctive shapes of the company’s iconic products.

Unique positioning – The company highlighted its history of innovation and flexible approach to customers with its positioning phrase, Plastics + Creativity = Plasticity.

Leveraging heritage – Brand messages amplify Rodman’s many innovations, which range from business processes to product development. This supports a future-ready culture in which innovation can flourish.

Roadmap for development – Project deliverables included comprehensive brand guidelines that enable the Rodman team to develop consistent marketing materials.

New website advances business strategy

Featuring a comprehensive ecommerce element, the new Rodman Plastics website is communications central for the company’s ongoing evolution. The website serves a range of audiences, both internal and external.

It presents Rodman’s bona fides as an OEM plastics manufacturer in a digital landscape crowded with agents.

The owner of valuable consumer brands in China, the Rodman website also serves consumer shoppers seeking genuine quality products.

The website also aims to align Rodman teams in China and globally with a common culture and understanding.

Value created

Effective digital presence – The modern, user-friendly website experience positions Rodman as a quality-conscious company. Visitors understand the company values communication and pays attention to detail.

Communications central – The website allows Rodman to orient all stakeholders in an environment over which it has complete control.

Best practice SEO – By embedding key phrases into the content, the website is designed to climb search engine rankings over time.

Business support – From attracting new customers and reassuring consumers, to impressing potential recruits, the website supports a number of key corporate objectives.

“I highly recommend Stepworks. We came to them to help us redefine and refresh our brand story and identity after 25 years in business. Our business had transformed over those years – both domestically in China and internationally – and we needed help to represent ourselves today as one company – while at the same time reflect our core values that have never changed. Stepworks were fantastic and via a cohesive and methodical process were able to accurately pinpoint who Rodman are as well as deliver a full creative brand identity solution. Brilliant communication and excellent value also.”
